CSV Preview inside Tines

Hi Tines Team,

I’d love to suggest a CSV preview capability directly within Tines.

This is something we suggested during our POV and multiple times after that moment, more than 1 and a half years ago.

Today, when working with CSV files generated or processed by workflows, users need to download the file locally just to inspect its contents, even when the file is small and the goal is simply to validate data, troubleshoot an issue, or confirm a workflow outcome.

Adding an in-app CSV preview would significantly improve the user experience by allowing users to quickly view the contents of a CSV without leaving Tines. This would:

  • Reduce unnecessary file downloads.
  • Accelerate troubleshooting and workflow validation.
  • Improve efficiency when working with data-driven automations.
  • Keep users within the Tines experience rather than relying on external tools.
  • Provide a more seamless and modern UX, similar to how many cloud platforms preview common file types directly in the browser.

For smaller CSV files, a simple tabular preview with pagination, search, and column scrolling would already deliver substantial value. This would be especially beneficial for analysts, automation engineers, and operations teams who frequently need to inspect output files as part of their daily workflows.

Overall, this feature would remove friction from a very common use case and make Tines even more intuitive and efficient for users handling structured data.

The way we envision it, would be a simple view(eyeball) icon for supported files that can be previewed such as small csv files.

Thank you for considering this enhancement!

Hey @cpana!

This is a great suggestion. We’ll pass it along to our product team and let you know what we hear. Thank you!
