When something runs, I want to be able to look back and see what happened. Where do logs and run history live, and how much detail can I see for each execution? I’m curious whether I can trace a single run step by step to understand exactly what each action did. Pointers to the relevant docs would help.

Depending on your stories configuration, a story retains run events for a given period of time (default configuration options are 1, 7, 30, and 90 days) and can be viewed in the [Storyboard View](https://www.tines.com/docs/stories/story-runs/#storyboard-view) of the story itself. However, if you’d prefer a more holistic view of how events and data flowed through your workflow, a [Story Run View](https://www.tines.com/docs/stories/story-runs/#story-run-view) can be accessed at the top right of your storyboard.

If your goal is to be able to ingest a story run’s events programmatically to integrate story runs into one of your automations, the Tines API has endpoints available to do things such as [List Events](https://www.tines.com/docs/api/stories/actions/list-events/) or [List Logs](https://www.tines.com/docs/api/stories/actions/list-logs/) for example, which will allow you to pull and filter the individual pieces of story run data as you please.
