Download all files from a fileblock within a case

Many workflows leverage FileBlocks to store collections of files generated or collected during an automation process. Currently, users must iterate through individual files and download each file separately. A dedicated “Download All Files from FileBlock” action would significantly simplify workflows, reduce API calls, and improve usability.

Problem Statement

When a FileBlock contains multiple files:

  • Users need to retrieve each file individually.
  • Workflows become more complex due to looping logic.
  • Additional actions are required for file enumeration and downloads.
  • Large FileBlocks can lead to inefficient workflow design and increased execution time.

This creates unnecessary friction for common use cases such as:

  • Security investigation evidence collection
  • Compliance and audit exports
  • Backup and archiving workflows
  • Bulk document processing
  • Incident response artifact gathering

Proposed Solution

Introduce a new action:

Download All Files from FileBlock

Hey @cpana ! This would make an incredible feature request. I’ll get this submitted to our product team. :purple_heart:

Hi @cpana! Engineering is asking me if you’d prefer this functionality within the API for automation or as a manual button in the case.

hey @leah - I’m more on the end-user part and i know that it will bring a lot of value as a manual button in the case on fileblocks. This functionality + the recently submitted CSV previewer feature request would be amazing! Thanks

Hi Leah, both would be great!

Hey @cpana – super exciting. Looks like engineering has already shipped your feature request! Take a look at the What’s New post and let me know if you have any questions.

Amazing ! Works like a charm! thank you so very much!

yay !! so glad to hear it!
